如何区别 adjust to 和adapt to

adapt to表示一种能适应不同情况的能力，不是严格意义上的“习惯于”之意，动词adapt有及物和不及物两种用法：

The young man from the countryside adapted well to life in the big city.这个农村青年很能适应大城市的生活。

adjust to强调为适应某种不同情况而进行自我调节，动词adjust to也有及物和不及物两种用法：The eyes needed several minutes to adjust to the dimness.眼睛需要几分钟时间来适应昏暗。

“adjust to”表示适应的时候，“to”是介词，所以后面跟“sth”或“doing sth”。

使(自己)适应于，改变…以适应，调节：

习惯于：
