other与else的区别：

else, other都可以表示“别的”。但是other修饰名词，位于名词的前面；else修饰不定代词、疑问代词或疑问副词，必须位于这些词之后。如：

（1）What's that in your other hand? 你的另一只手里拿着什么？

（2）Do you have anything else to say? 你还有别的事情要说吗？

（3）Who else can play the piano? 还有谁会弹钢琴？

还要注意以下词语的区别：

*other常起形容词的作用、修饰名词单数、复数、意为“别的”，“共他的”。

There is no other use for it .

All other birds will fly away .

*the other表示“两者中的另一个”

Here are two books ,one is for Mary ,the other is for Jack.

*another表示“三者或三者以上当中的另一个”，也可以表示“再”“又”。

I don't like this one . Show me another.

He will be back in another ten days.

*others表示泛指、只能作代词

There are lots of people in the park.

Some are walking ,others are boating.

*the others 表示特指，指代某范围中除去某部分后，余下的全部人或物。

There are 30 people in the hall .

Ten of them are girls ,the others are boys.
