till 和untill的区别 ？

1、使用场合不同

till没有until正式，更多用于日常对话；until一词在书面语中出现的频率高于till。

2、词源不同

till直接源自古英语的til，意为到；最初源自古斯堪的那维亚语的til，意为直到。

Until一词借自斯堪的纳维亚语，曾被写作und-til，其中，und-实际上意思等同于-til。这是一个同义反复的复合词，两个语素都是源自斯堪的纳维亚语，不同于现在作为独立的前置词un-。

3、侧重点不同

till 表示肯定，指直到某一特定事件发生的时候,而在那个时刻之后，该事情或状况仍将持续（前面不加not）。

例句：I will be here?till?he comes back.

我将一直在这里直到他回来。

until?表示否定，指直到某一特定事件发生的时候，而讲话的人在自己心里认为，在那个时刻之后，该事情或该状况将中止。

例句：I won't leave here?until?he comes back.

我将不会离开这里直到他回来。

没什么多大的区别,在英语中，时常为了达到某种交际的目的而采取一种以否定句式来表达肯定含义的修辞方法，以加强语气或使语气更加委婉含蓄。其中一种是用含有not+表瞬间动作的动词+till/untill短语或从句.eg: He didn`t come back till 12:00(=He came back at 12:00.)。
