lie和stand详细用法和区别

动词stand可用来表示高形物体位于何处,如:建筑,树,人等.

而动词lie用来表示非高形物体位于和处,如地区,国家,河流,田野,铁路等.如:

The house stands on the hiⅡ．这房子坐落在那小山上。

West of the town 1ies a railway．城西有一条铁路。

stand多用于口语，指忍受“侮辱、艰难、寒暑、费用”等而言，多用在否定句中；若用在肯定句中则含有“经得住”的意思。

I cannot stand that man; he talks too much.
