如何区分stop和stop doing？

stop sb doing与stop sb from doing sth 是同义词， 都是“阻止某人做某事“的意思。

在主动语句中：from可省略，但在被动语句中 from 不可省略。

如

1.We should stop people (from ) cutting down trees .（from 可省略）

2.People should be stopped by us from cutting down trees .(from不可省略）

我们应该阻止人们树。

3..She stopped the boy( from) climbing the tree,( from 可省略）

= The boy was stopped from climbing the tree .(from 不可以省）

她阻止那个男孩爬树。

类似的用法还有：

prevent sb from doing sth ; ( 主动句中from 可省略）

keep sb from doing sth （无论是主动句还是被动句 from 都不可省略）

stop sb. to do sth. 与stop sb. doing sth. 用法上的区分

stop sb to do 使某人停止作当前的事情，而开始做别的事情

stop sb doing 使某人停止作当前的事情

两个词性(v)停止；中止(n)车站；停止

用法： stop doing/to do 区别是一个是停下正在做的的事 一个是停下来去做某事

短语：can‘t stop doing禁不住做某事

stop sb from doing阻止某人做某事
